Kyogre is one of the heaviest Pokemon. Weighing in at 352 kg. and with a height of 14' 9", Kyogre is the fifth heaviest legendary. Kyogre only obtainable in two games: Sapphire and Emerald. In Sapphire, you have to go to Sootopolis City afer beating the Team Aqua leader, Archie. Once in Sootopolis, Wallace will tell you that you must stop Kyogre or pretty soon, all of Hoenn shall flood in the massive rainfall. Then, the player must go to The Cave of Origin, through a winding maze of ladders, and go all the way down to where Kyogre is. Then, after confronting it, you must battle Kyogre. Don't run away because if you do, you'll never see Kyogre again. In Emerald, you must talk to Steven during the heavy rains and massive lightning. He'll tell you about the history of Kyogre and Groudon and tell you that their fighting must stop. Then he'll say that he wants you to meet wants you to meet someone. That "someone" is none other than Wallace, the eighth gym leader. Once you talk to Wallace in the Cave of Origin and he ask you where Rayquaza is. Once you finish Rayquaza, Wallace will tell you to go to the Marine Cave. In the Marine Cave, you will find Kyogre on the last floor.

Kyogre appeared in the anime in ''Episode 373: Gaining Groudon!'', and ''Episode 374: The Scuffle Of Legends!'', debuting with Kyogre as well. [[Team Magma]] and [[Team Aqua]] were competing to gain both legendaries. Team Aqua, as it turned out, tricked Magma leader Maxie by taking Kyogre even after they had Groudon. Then soon things started to get hectic when Archie, Aqua leader, siced Kyogre at Team Magma, but it got out of control and possessed him. Then it was chaotic as Kyogre was rampaging throughout the ocean. Until Ash's pikachu, taken over by the [[Blue Orb]], shocked Groudon's cargo container and released Groudon to fight against Kyogre. It turned out that Groudon was the nice one, using the Blue Orb to make pikachu release it to help Ash and friends. After that the orbs were placed into rest and all was well again. Kyogre also made an appearance in the ninth Pokemon movie, even though he didn't really do anything.
