Naming
Its name may be a combination of Anomalocaris, an ancient ocean dweller resembling a shrimp, and lith, Latin for stone.
Biological characteristics
Anorith is an ancient ocean-dwelling creature that uses the fins on its sides to propel itself through the seas. It has one pair of large eyes, and a pair of claws that eventually would become a Claw Fossil found in the Hoenn region.
In the video games
Generation III
There are no living Anorith left in the Hoenn region, however a Claw Fossil can be taken to the Devon Corporation in Rustboro City to revive it.
FireRed/LeafGreen players must trade for it.
Generation IV
In the Diamond/Pearl versions, the player must take a Claw Fossil to the Oreburgh Mining Museum to revive one.
In Platinum version, the player must trade for one.
