Arceus (Arseus in the original Japanese language versions) is a Legendary Pokémon that premieres in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Arceus is referred to as the "Original One." It is said in creation legend that Arceus was born from an egg in a vortex of pure chaos. After it was born, it created two beings of time and space from itself, and then three more beings. Those five creatures are Palkia, Dialga, Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit. Those five creatures created matter and spirit, while Arceus went to sleep. This story can be found in the Canalave Library in a book called The Original Story, and it can also be read from the various plates the player encounters in the story. Arceus is a God-Like Pokemon with a golden wheel around its abdomen. This wheel, when viewed from the front, has an "A"-like design in the middle.
Arceus makes its first appearance in 'Pokémon Diamond and Pearl for the Nintendo DS. Its exclusive move, Judgement, works hand in hand with the various elemental plates. Arceus can be found in the Hall of Origin. To access the Hall of Origin, a player must play the Azure Flute on Spear Pillar. The Azure Flute will be obtainable in a future Nintendo event, but there is no word about if and when the event will happen yet.
It is also possible to obtain Arceus through use of an Action Replay DS.

Ability
Its ability allows it to change type according to whatever (if any) Elemental Plate it is holding. For example, if Arceus is holding a Flame Plate, Arceus will be a fire type.
Obtaining Arceus
As of right now, Arceus is only obtainable in the games by cheating or hacking, or by exploiting certain in game glitches in early copies of the game.
Trivia
- The move 'Judgement' can also be used via Metronome, which originally gave away Arceus's existence in the game to gamers.
- Arceus's type + color changes depending on which elemental plate you make it hold.
- A ??? Arceus Sprite was created, but whether in the future this form will be available is yet to be confirmed.
- The Pokédex says that it created the world with its 1000 arms. However it cannot learn any punching moves. The arms have also never been seen.
